This week's list has a definite, and unfortunate, high school theme:

  • Teen Arrested in Stolen Tux ... at Prom: When a $600 tuxedo was stolen off a mannequin at a bridal shop in Prescott Valley, Ariz., police knew just where to look: They called around to local schools and discovered that one of them had its prom scheduled for the weekend. So the store owner himself decided to drop by.
  • Woman, 31, Accused of Posing as High School Sophomore: A strange case of an alleged imposter out of Texas: A woman who is at least 31 and possibly older posed as a 15-year-old high school sophomore and got away with it for almost an entire school year. She even had the requisite Facebook photos.
  • Police Use Invisible Powder to Nab Unlikely Thief: Someone was stealing money from lockers in the boys' locker room at New Smyrna Beach High School in Florida ... and it ended up being probably the last person you'd expect. A police sting complete with invisible luminescent powder resulted in the arrest.

  • Teacher Busted for DWI ... on Her Way to Work: Police arrested a woman in Humble, Texas, on DWI charges. It was bad enough that it happened about 8am on a weekday, but she also happened to be a middle-school teacher who was on her way to work, driving rather erratically on the highway.
  • Cops Make 2 Drunk-Driving Arrests in Single Car: Police in Iowa managed to make two drunk-driving arrests by pulling over a single car. It helped that the drivers switched places at one point, in full view of someone following them.
