The Ottawa Senators took advantage of having their three best scorers in the lineup last night in a 6-1 rout of the Montreal Canadiens, reports the Associated Press. Jason Spezza had a career-high six points with three goals. Daniel Alfredsson returned after missing four games to record two goals and three assists. Dany Heatley also had one goal and three assists. In other NHL action:

  • Richard Zednick scored two goals as the Florida Panthers won for the fourth time in five games with a 6-3 win over the Boston Bruins.
  • The Atlanta Thrashers moved into a tie with Carolina for the lead in the Southeast Division with a 2-1 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Alexei Zhitnik scored the winner 1:26 in OT.
