Woman Halts Bank Robber— By Crashing Into His Car

A Pennsylvania woman was visiting a local bank when a shaking teller told her a robber had just fled. Tina Gleim decided to do something about it: She drove her truck right into the suspect's car, ABC 27 reports. "I thought, 'I can't stop him any other way, I might as well hit him,'" she tells the York Dispatch. "I saw an opportunity that I could stop a criminal from getting away with it." No one was hurt in the parking-lot crash. "It was easy," Gleim says, though her truck took $2,000 in damage.

After a quarter mile, the suspect's SUV wouldn't go any farther. Following a search, police busted Alexis Laskowski, 38. He's admitted to robbing four other banks, police say. Police are applauding Gleim's "courage," the Dispatch notes, but they're also warning that it's not a great idea for citizens to take dangerous matters into their own hands.
