State hopes humor can sell safety

Colorado is worried that the legalization of marijuana will lead to an increase in stoned drivers on the roads, and it's unveiled a new ad campaign to guard against it, reports AP. The "Drive High, Get a DUI" campaign uses humor to get the point across, notes Ad Age. One TV spot, for instance, features a guy trying in vain to light his grill until he makes an important discovery. "Grilling high is now legal," reads the ad. "Driving to get the propane you forgot isn't." Click for NPR's Here & Now interview with a state DOT official, who isn't sold on the belief that stoned drivers tend to drive more slowly.
