This time of year, it's not unusual for someone to bring up Apple's Super Bowl ad from 1984, usually with the word "iconic" attached. But this year—today, in fact—the attention is especially appropriate, because it's the 30th anniversary, notes the Huffington Post. Well, mostly, considering this weird piece of trivia noted by AppAdvice.com: Part of the ad's lore is that it aired on TV just once, right? Wrong. Creators Chiat/Day wanted it to be eligible for the 1983 advertising awards, so the spot aired late on Dec. 31, 1983, at a small station in Twin Falls, Idaho. (More Apple stories.)
