Multiple diners say they witnessed staff at a Nashville Morton's Steakhouse treating a cancer patient poorly, Fox 17 reports. The man was part of a large party that had come in for a company holiday gathering and spent more than $2,000; toward the end of the meal, he put on a wool beanie because he's going through chemotherapy and needed the extra warmth. He was asked to remove the cap, then explained the situation to the manager ... who told him he should have brought a note from his doctor or called ahead so he could sit in a private area.

He and his family eventually stormed out, and the police reportedly arrived, though it's not clear who called them. Outraged posts from other diners quickly appeared on Yelp and Facebook. (One of the reviewers, who says her husband works for the man in question, says the entire group was asked to leave, and multiple reviews imply that Morton's called the police.) The restaurant responded on its corporate Facebook page: "We are aware of the situation that happened at our Nashville location over the weekend. We appreciate you all bringing it to our attention, and we have reached out to the parties involved and can assure you that all facts will be uncovered." (More chemotherapy stories.)
