It's a happy ending: Nevada authorities have found the four kids and two adults missing in frigid conditions since Sunday—and they all appear to be fine, reports the Reno Gazette-Journal. Details remain thin, but all six were being taken to a hospital in Pershing County. "They are in pretty good shape," says a sheriff's official. James Glanton, 34, girlfriend Christina McIntee, 25, a 10-year-old, two 4-year-olds, and a 3-year-old drove out to the Seven Troughs area to have some fun in the snow over the weekend but didn't return.
With temperatures dipping to 16-below since then, authorities held out hope that they had remained huddled together in their vehicle. About 200 members of the public helped police search the remote area, and police say it was one of them who found the missing six, reports AP. No details about the encounter are out yet. Two of the kids belong to Glanton and McIntee, and the other two are a niece and a nephew. (More uplifting news stories.)
