A woman pleaded guilty to three murders in a UK court today, taking her lawyer so by surprise that he asked for more time, noting, "The course is not one I had anticipated." Joanna Dennehy, 48, confessed to killing three men between March and April of this year, then dumping their bodies in ditches. All three men had been stabbed. Dennehy also admitted to two other attempted murders, the Telegraph reports.
"I've pleaded guilty, and that's that," she told the judge, according to the BBC. She objected to her defense team being given more time, adding, "I'm not coming back down here again just to say the same stuff. It's a long way to come to say the same thing I have just said." Three other defendants allegedly linked to the crimes pleaded not guilty. (More serial killer stories.)
