The Rob Ford chronicles reached a new low today, prompting yet another apology from the Toronto mayor. "I used unforgivable language and again I apologize," he said at a news conference, reports CTV News. The mea culpa comes after a give-and-take with the media that the National Post says left reporters gasping. In the course of denying allegations that he regularly used cocaine and visited prostitutes, Ford also denied that he once told a staffer, "I want to eat your p----." And that's when the mayor of the fifth-largest city in North America added, “I’m happily married, I have more than enough to eat at home."
At his subsequent news conference—with his wife, Renata, by his side—Ford said the new allegations pushed me over the line," adding, “When you attack my integrity as a father, and as a husband, I see red." Ford also said he was getting help "from a team of health care professionals," though he didn't elaborate. He continues to reject the request of his own city council that he step down.
