Every Paper in Toronto Tells Mayor to Resign

There's political criticism and then there's this: All four of Toronto's daily newspapers—the Sun, the Star, the National Post, and the Globe and Mail—published editorials today calling on Mayor Rob Ford to resign. They're responding, of course, to the police announcement that investigators have recovered a video that appears to show Ford smoking crack.

The mayor has said he has no intention of stepping down and continues to insist he wasn't smoking crack, despite accounts to the contrary by reporters at the Star and Gawker who have seen the video. Today, Ford's lawyer called on police to make it public. "All I can say is we'd love to see the video," he tells Reuters. "I can't say what it shows because only a few have seen it. ... Let the public see it."
