Phone Threat Evacuates Eiffel Tower

France's iconic Eiffel Tower was evacuated today after a threat, reports AFP, and security forces moved to fully clear the area. The threat came in via telephone, according to a police source who declined to give details. The landmark, which Reuters notes had not reopened by 5:30pm local time, has already seen two bomb threats this year; full evacuations are rare. Up to 32,000 people visit daily.
