Today is the 63rd anniversary of the Korean War, and both Koreas found themselves under attack once more—cyberattack, in this case. Key North and South Korean government and media websites mysteriously went down for hours, the AP reports. Hackers from Anonymous had announced plans to attack North Korea, and claimed credit for it on Twitter. They said nothing about the attacks on the South, but whoever committed them left an Anonymous calling card as well.
A South Korean presidential website was briefly splashed with an image in red saying, "Great leader Kim Jong-un" and another saying "We Are Anonymous. We Are Legion. We Do Not Forgive. We Do Not Forget. Expect Us," the Yonhap News Agency reports. There have been no reports thus far of sensitive military systems being hit, but the military upped its Information Operation Condition, deploying more cyber security workers and increasing surveillance as a precaution.
