Georgia Bill Outlaws Left-Lane Slowpokes

A state trooper-turned-lawmaker in Georgia intends to make it illegal for slow drivers to dawdle in the left lane, reports the Huffington Post. His proposed bill would require drivers to move to the right if they're going below the speed limit in the passing lane and cars are behind them. It strengthens a current law on the books and makes it clear that scofflaws face a fine for a moving violation. "I always say it's the manners your momma should have taught you," state legislator Bill Hitchens tells MyFox Atlanta. "If someone pulls up behind you, you move to the right and let them by." The measure will curb accidents and road rage incidents, he adds. (More Georgia stories.)
