(AP Photo/The Canadian Press, Sean Kilpatrick) (Associated Press) The Ottawa Senators were determined to up-end the top team in the NHL standings, but the Red Wings didn't go easily to the 3-2 loss, reports the Ottawa Citizen. Daniel Alfredsson and Mike Fisher took Ottawa out in front with first-period goals, but Detroit had pulled even by the time the Senators' Dany Heatley left for the locker room with an injured shoulder. Ottawa coach John Paddock would only say Heatley suffered an upper-body injury, and remained mum on the All-Star's timetable for return. With the team's leading scorer out, Alfredsson took on the game-winning goal against former Senator Dominik Hasek. "It's nice to face a team like that at this point in the schedule and get the win," Alfredsson said. (More NHL stories.) Report an error
