Today is the second anniversary of Gabrielle Giffords' shooting, and she and Mark Kelly mark the occasion by launching a group pushing for "responsible" gun laws. "Until now, the gun lobby's political contributions, advertising, and lobbying have dwarfed spending from anti-gun-violence groups. No longer," they write in an Arizona Republic op-ed. "With Americans for Responsible Solutions engaging millions of people … legislators will no longer have reason to fear the gun lobby." "We don't want to take away your guns any more than we want to give up the two guns we have locked in a safe at home," they add, arguing that most Americans want the kind of reasonable reforms they do. Giffords and Kelly also sit down with Diane Sawyer on ABC News today, the Wall Street Journal notes, and the website for their group is already up. In other gun control news:

  • Michael Bloomberg's anti-gun group will air an ad tomorrow that features the mother of Christina Taylor-Green, the 9-year-old killed in the Tucson shooting, Politico reports.
  • The Republic has an interview with Roxanna Green, who is in Newtown to call for reform. "I'm angry now," she says. "I'm going to take every opportunity to speak out."
  • Joe Biden's gun control task force is calling reps for gun owner groups, victim organizations, and video game industry to the White House this week to discuss measures to curb gun violence, the AP reports. Obama has promised that the group will produce results by the end of the month.
