Guy Threatens Cat, Wife Shoots Him
Not the cat in question, but isn't it cute?   (?)

Audrey Deen Miller chose her cat over her husband in a big way this week: When hubby threatened to either shoot the cat (according to KHOU) or throw it over the fence (according to KSAT), the 42-year-old Houston woman allegedly shot him in the stomach with a .40-caliber semiautomatic handgun. The couple was apparently arguing over the animal, although no details on why. The husband was taken to the hospital and returned home later in the afternoon, wearing a hospital gown and unable to get inside because he didn't have his keys. The cat is fine, and Miller has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Best lines from articles about the incident:

  • From ABC News: "Investigators with Harris County Precinct 4 say the couple had an argument over the family cat, though there are several cats on the property so it isn’t clear yet which cat sparked the argument."
  • From Gawker: "KSAT reports that the couple were apparently arguing about the cat, one of several found in the home along with a few dogs and some marijuana."
