John McCain has shot to the top of the GOP field in New Hampshire, with a 31% to 25% lead over Mitt Romney in a new Suffolk University poll. "Many of the Republican candidates have been talking about faith," quipped the lead pollster, “but it looks like John McCain is headed for a religious experience in the Granite State.” Two other surveys confirmed the Arizona senator’s rally, Pollster shows, putting him on par with Romney for the first time.

The Suffolk poll also showed Hillary Clinton gaining 3 points in her lead over Barack Obama, with 36% to Obama’s 22%, the New Hampshire Union Leader reports. On both sides of the voting aisle, 12% of primary goers remained undecided—though the pollster noted many of the undecided Democrats were breaking towards New York’s junior senator.
