A tale of twisted employee dedication out of Texas: Walmart worker Lance Jason Ferguson has been charged with aggravated assault after police accused him of intentionally hitting a customer with his car, reports Click2Houston.com. It seems Ferguson, 33, believed the alleged victim, high school senior Dominique Mason, was shoplifting. Mason admits he was considering stealing a few video games and DVDs, but had a change of heart and put them back on the shelf before leaving emptyhanded.

As Mason was walking home, Ferguson allegedly hit him with the car, then approached the student and told him never to return to the Houston Walmart. Mason, who says he was thrown up onto the hood of the car, was able to walk home after the incident, but his mother took him to the hospital shortly after to seek treatment for back injuries. Meanwhile, Ferguson claims he didn't drive to work that day and says he never left the store. Surveillance footage shows otherwise, however—Ferguson can be seen leaving the store and returning 10 minutes later, and driving a car similar to the one described by Mason. Ferguson now finds himself behind bars and without a job. (More Walmart stories.)
