Romney, Take 2: Olympics Will Be 'Terrific'

After a day of gaffes in London—questioning the city's readiness for the Olympics, blabbing about his secret MI6 meeting, calling the opposition leader Ed Miliband "Mr. Leader"—Mitt Romney put on a brave face and accentuated the positive, predicting the Games would be "terrific,” enjoy "great weather," and be filled with "enthusiasm on the part of the people here in London," reports the Telegraph.

Romney made a point of talking about his British roots—his great-great-grandfather was a carpenter in Preston—and how the grandfather of his wife, Ann, came from Wales. "So I feel like this is home, too, I guess," he said. Still, the Brits have been having some fun with Romney's less-than-successful charm offensive, even starting a Twitter hashtag, "#AmericanBorat."
