Detroit, paced by Henrik Zetterberg's hat trick and a shutout by the ageless Dominik Hasek, wiped out Minnesota 5-0 tonight, making the Red Wings the first team to reach 20 wins in the NHL this season. They put the game away with three goals in a four-minute span in the second period. Elsewhere on the ice tonight:

  • Evgeni Nabakov has become unbeatable against Phoenix, posting his third straight shutout against the Coyotes in San Jose's 1-0 win. The Sharks have outscored Wayne Gretzky's team 16-1 this year.
  • Colorado, despite missing captain Joe Sakic a fourth straight game, topped Philadelphia, 2-1, with the winner coming from Milan Hejduk. Jose Theodore stopped 28 shots for the Avs.
