The Oilers scored once in each of the first two periods before Pittsburgh surged onto the scoreboard, with two goals in 21 seconds. Sid Crosby had an assist on the second, and two more on the Penguins' next two goals, much to the delight of the Crosby-loving Edmonton crowd, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Meanwhile, in sunny Southern California:

The Anaheim Ducks smashed the Buffalo Sabres in a rough 4-1 game—there were four times as many penalties as between the polite Penguins and Oilers. The Ducks, winless for 10 games, hadn't beaten the Sabres since 1999. The Ducks' Drew Miller went up for the first time against his brother Ryan, who saved 29 shots for Buffalo. (More NHL stories.)
