Tomas Holmstrom scored his NHL-leading ninth power-play goal, and Pavel Datsyuk scored two goals of his own to push Detroit past Calgary 5-3, the AP reports. Kris Draper and Valtteri Filppula also scored for the Red Wings, and Holmstrom and Datsyuk each had an assist. Flames' goalie Miikka Kiprusoff was removed early in the second period after giving up three goals.

The Flames took a quick lead on Robyn Regehr's wrist shot.  They would never regain the advantage after Datysuk tied it with a phenomenal play a little more than four minutes into the first; Draper netted the go-ahead only seconds after his equalizer. Dion Phaneuf and Alex Tanguay were responsible for the other two Calgary goals, and Jarome Iginla had three assists. (More NHL stories.)
