'Vampire' Texas Teen Lyle Bensley Busted for Biting Woman
Bensley "was adamant on the fact that he was a vampire and he had been here for 500 years," a police spokesman says. "Stated numerous times he wasn't out to hurt the human race."   (Galveston Police Dept.)

He says he's a 500-year-old vampire from hell; police say he's a 19-year-old from Galveston, Texas. Lyle Bensley was arrested for breaking into a woman's apartment and biting her while screaming about being a vampire, say cops. After the woman broke free and fled the apartment, responding officers found Bensley growling and hissing in the building's parking lot.

Bensley told cops to restrain him because he "didn't want to have to feed on humans," a police spokesman tells ABC. "I've dealt with some really strange people," said the investigator. "You know, guys who think they're Jesus and that. But I've never seen anything like this." The teen is being held on charges of burglary with intent to commit assault. A psychiatric evaluation is pending. (More vampire stories.)
