Good News for Homeless Guy: You're Rich!

Max Melitzer was wandering the streets of Salt Lake City yesterday, pushing all his worldly belongings in a shopping cart, when a man approached with some pretty good news: Melitzer, who has been homeless for years, had just come into a lot of money. Seems Melitzer's brother died last year, leaving him a "significant" amount of cash, reports the Deseret News. "He's still in shock. This came out of nowhere," says David Lundberg, the private investigator hired by Melitzer's family to track him down.

"He'll no longer be living on the street or in abandoned storage sheds," says Lundberg. "He'll be able to have a normal life, and be able to have a home, provide for himself, and purchase clothing, food and health care." Melitzer, who has been a staple at local rescue missions for years, is to reunite with his family next week, notes the AP. (More homeless stories.)
