A group of doctors in Germany is catching heat for advertising homosexuality treatments on its website. The Union of Catholic Physicians offers "homeopathic dilutions," psychotherapy, and sugar pills to keep “inclinations” at bay, reports Der Spiegel. The group acknowledges that homosexuality is not an illness, but “we know about a number of people with homosexual feelings who find themselves in a spiritual and psychological emergency and suffer greatly," explains the lead doctor.

The Lesbian and Gay Federation in Germany calls the treatments “dangerous” and "laughable." A spokeswoman adds, "All serious experts agree that sexual orientation is already evident in early childhood.” Der Spiegel notes that homosexuality was officially removed from the World Health Organization’s International Code of Diseases 18 years ago.
