Devils GM Lou Lamoriello isn't used to the view from the bottom of the Atlantic Division -- which is where his team sits after a 1-0 home loss to the New York Islanders tonight. Josef Vasicek scored the game's lone goal, shorthanded, as future Hall of Famer Martin Brodeur failed for the third time to win his 500th career game.

Devils coach Brent Sutter's special teams tweaks offered little spark, as defenseman Mike Mottau's stumble during a second-period power play directly led to Vasicek's goal. Lamoriello, never one to stand pat, is likely on the prowl for a forward, reports the Star-Ledger. The Devils dropped to 0-4-2 this season against the Rangers and Islanders. (More NHL stories.)
