Louisiana wildlife officials say someone shot and beheaded a bald eagle, then disposed of it in a ditch, reports AP. They're offering a $2,000 reward for information, and the culprit better hopes it doesn't work: The offense can bring six-figure fines and possibly jail time. It's the fifth bald eagle killed in the US this year, including one last month in North Carolina, where officials have just increased their reward to $5,500, notes vancnews.com.
