Clearly, Piers "the new Larry King" Morgan is not one to tread lightly. He has called it "bleeding obvious" that Sarah Palin should not have placed crosshairs on a map of the district of shooting victim Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. “I was merely stating the bleeding obvious when it was highlighted that Sarah Palin said the thing about crosshairs and reloading," Morgan told the Daily Beast. "Politicians have to be extremely careful about the use of violent rhetoric, not because you and I are going to go out and shoot people, but because there are many people who are mentally unstable who just might be incited to do that. It's inherently dangerous."
Shortly after the attempted assassination that left six dead, Morgan Twittered: “It’s not a ‘liberal’ view to think politicians should desist from using inflammatory rhetoric and imagery. It’s just common sense." Palin's attack on Giffords "probably" had nothing to do with the shooting, Morgan told the Beast. But "no one can tell me that the increasingly hysterical, partisan nature of what we’re viewing on TV does not filter down to people who are unstable," he added. "Politicians today have to be aware that their comments get watched and heard by everybody.” Morgan, a judge on America's Got Talent and a former London tab editor, replaces King this month.
