Court Clears Golfer Who Didn't Yell 'Fore!'

Legal ruling of the day: Getting hit in the head by a buddy's lousy shot is a risk all golfers assume when they tee off—and just because he didn't yell "Fore!" doesn't mean you can sue him. New York's highest court dismissed a personal injury suit by one doctor against another after an errant shot hit him in the head and left him blind in one eye, reports AP.

He complained that his fellow golfer didn't even shout a warning, but the judges didn't buy it. "A person who chooses to participate in a sport or recreational activity consents to certain risks" they wrote. "The manner in which (he) was injured—being hit without warning by a 'shanked' shot while one searches for one's own ball—reflects a commonly appreciated risk of golf."
