A recent survey found that dog owners are more likely to give their pet a Christmas present than cat owners, and that made Brittny Drye sad. On The Stir, she lists five gifts you should consider for your kitty companion this year:

  • Cat Genie: The litter box is "self-flushing and self-washing, which means you never have to deal with litter ever again," she writes. "Let me repeat that, never have to empty the litter box ever again." So it's worth the $269.

  • Fancy cat scratcher: Marmalade Pets makes one that actually looks nice, rather than being an "eyesore" ... as long as you don't mind spending $118.
  • Kitty Walk bed: If your cat likes hanging out in your closet, why not buy him or her a bed for $49.95 that's meant to hang there?
