Vampire fillers, trampoline necklifts, fat transfers: Just a few of the scary-sounding plastic surgery procedures pioneered recently. The Daily Beast rounds up 10:

  • Selphyl: Also known as the "vampire filler," this treatment uses platelets from the patient's blood to create a substance that stimulates growth of skin cells and collagen and can help fill in acne scars and frown lines; expect to pay $1,000-plus per injection.
  • Fat transfers: While these aren't new, doctors are finding new ways of inserting fat from one part of the body into other areas of the body. One plastic surgeon who uses it to "finesse breast implants" calls it "God's filler."

  • Fat burning machines: Zeltiq and Zerona claim to eliminate fat—one using cold air and the other using a laser—without surgery, at a cost that hovers around $3,000.
  • Skin resurfacing machines: SmartPulse, Affirm, the Matrix, and other machines can boost collagen without leaving your skin red and raw for weeks afterward.
  • Trampoline necklift: One Beverly Hills plastic surgeon invented this $6,500 technique for eliminating double chins without an incision—instead, ligaments along the jawline are punctured and a series of sutures is inserted then sewn together.
