When the Red Sox won the World Series last night, some fans rioted. Others relaxed in suddenly free furniture. Roughly 30,000 took advantage of a local retailer's spring promotion, which promised rebates if the Sox won it all. Meanwhile, 37 people were arrested after last night’s celebrations in Boston of the sweep-clinching victory in Denver turned violent, with fans flipping over cars and starting fires. Over a thousand police swarmed the streets around Fenway Park, stamping out drunken revelry. “We’ve done this before,” the police superintendent told the Globe. (More Boston Red Sox stories.)
