(AP Photo/Ed Betz) (Associated Press) Rangers rookie Nigel Dawes was twice the hero last night as he sent two shots past New Jersey Devils goalie Martin Brodeur to secure New York's first win in five games. Dawes got more than a little help from dead-on Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist, who shut out the Devils with 22 saves, reports the New York Daily News. Jaromir Jagr hoped before the game that the Rangers could "score in the first five minutes," and Dawes granted that wish. His first goal was the Rangers' first in more than two full games, and the 29th given up by the Devils since the season started nine games ago. New York and New Jersey are left tied for last place in the Atlantic Division. (More NHL stories.) Report an error
