Hundreds Feared Dead in Mexican Landslide

A Mexican hillside collapsed on a rural Oaxaca village early today after days of rain, and the state's governor says hundreds are feared dead. The landslide buried between 100 and 300 homes in Santa Maria de Tlahuitoltepec, reports the AP, and the weather is thwarting would-be rescuers. "There has been lots of rain, rivers have overflowed and we're having a hard time reaching the area because there are landslides on the roads," he said. (More Mexico stories.)
