Joran Van der Sloot has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges he tried to extort $250,000 from Natalee Holloway's mother. A US district attorney says the Dutchman, currently in a Peruvian jail awaiting a murder trial, has been indicted on charges of wire fraud and extortion for soliciting money from Beth Holloway in exchange for information on where her daughter was buried. Van der Sloot is the only suspect in the Alabama teen's disappearance in 2005.
