Groups hoping for an Al Gore presidential run are crossing their fingers for the former VP to win the Nobel Peace Prize tomorrow. Supporters say the award might be more convincing than the Oscar and Emmy he has already racked up. "It's like waiting for Grateful Dead tickets to go on sale, back in the day," says one Gore-head.

DraftGore.com, a California group, took out a full-page ad in the New York Times yesterday pleading with Gore to run. Despite grassroots internet enthusiasm, political observers still think a campaign would be pretty unlikely. "Global warming Al Gore" is a lot more popular than "presidential candidate Al Gore," one policy researcher tells the San Francisco Chronicle. (More Al Gore stories.)
