Fashion's A-list gathered in New York last night for the Council of Fashion Designers of America's annual awards ceremony. Marc Jacobs won the womenswear designer of the year award, Michael Kors took home a lifetime achievement award, and model Iman was recognized as a Fashion Icon, the Daily Beast reports. And tons of celebs—from Gwyneth Paltrow to Brooke Shields—attended, decked out in their designer best.
The other big news of the night: Sarah Jessica Parker gave a tribute to Alexander McQueen: "I didn't know him that well," she told the Beast "I wouldn't claim to be a close friend. I don't want anyone thinking I'm co-opting a relationship that didn't exist, but I was a great admirer of his and I made no secret of that."
