The best bass-fishing lake in America is being terrorized by Mexican pirates. Several American boaters on Falcon Lake, which straddles the US-Mexican border, have been robbed in recent weeks by boatloads of armed Mexicans believed to belong to the Zeta cartel. Most of the incidents have happened on the Mexican side of the lake—which American boaters are being urged to avoid—but there has been at least one robbery on the American side.

"It worries me," the county sheriff tells ABC. "There are fishermen out there who are coming face to face with pirates. Even if they resist a little, they may get shot and killed. When this happens on the Mexican side, we have no jurisdiction—we can't even go get the bodies." The sheriff has urged Mexican authorities to step up patrols on their side of the lake.
