(Newser) Sex and the City 2 may have gotten downright awful reviews, but that doesn’t mean you must give up hope for all future TV-to-movie projects. The Frisky takes a look at eight that are particularly exciting:

  1. The Smurfs: Seems like a terrible idea…until you hear that Neil Patrick Harris is attached.
  2. 24: Just because the series ended this week doesn’t mean you’ve seen the last of Jack Bauer. But how to squeeze 24 hours into two?

  1. Gilligan’s Island: Sarah Jessica Parker, Zach Braff, and Katherine Heigl are possible castaways.
  2. Entourage: This fellow HBO show will probably follow the Sex and the City formula.
