When Sarah Ferguson got caught trying to sell access to ex-hubby Prince Andrew, it was only because she’s apparently broke. In a follow-up piece, News of the World charts Fergie’s path to destitution:

  • Her divorce settlement is just $21,000 a year: “That's why the Queen is my friend. I believed it was right never to ask Andrew for anything because it wasn't his money, it was the Queen's. The lawyers said, 'Go to court with the Queen' and I won't because she's a wonderful lady."

  • She owes, she owes: With unpaid bills of $285,000, nearly $928,000 in debt related to her folded company, and the end of her $2.85 million Weight Watchers deal, “I absolutely have not a pot to piss in.”
  • So how does she survive? “My children pay for me” out of their trust funds, she claims, adding that she’s basically a pauper: “My Bentley is lent to me by a friend. And the driver's a cabbie. He cost me fifty quid.”
  • Digging for...? "As long as Sarah thinks you are rich she will be all over you like a rash,” says a source. Ironically, she's working on a book to help men “deal with irritating, greedy wives, who are completely out of control.”
