We may not have seen the worst of the Gulf oil spill, says the man spearheading the federal response, Coast Guard Commandant Thad Allen. “The maddening thing is it’s indeterminate. So what we have is a 5,000 barrel spill every day with the wind shifting around. And it could go any direction based on the wind,” he said today on Face the Nation. “So the entire Gulf pretty much has to be on guard.” Politico runs down the Sunday dial:

  • Attorney General Eric Holder might sue Arizona over civil rights violations in its new immigration law: "We are considering all of our options. One possibility is filing a lawsuit."
  • Harry Reid is not worried about midterm election backlash over immigration reform, saying tersely that Dems are doing everything they can, while the GOP is playing the "anti-immigrant party." "I need some Republicans to help me,” he tells Univision.
  • Rudy Giuliani wouldn't have Mirandized Faisal Shahzad, and tells This Week that "I instead would have declared him an enemy combatant." Also, "The administration has talked too much about it."
