Graham Bails on Climate Bill

Lindsey Graham has taken his climate-change toys and gone home, reports Politico, withdrawing his support for a bipartisan bill he was to have announced tomorrow with co-sponsors John Kerry and Joe Lieberman. The moderate Republican was reportedly enraged by Harry Reid's plan to put the energy bill on the back burner in favor of immigration reform—a cause dearer to Reid's own re-election bid.

“Unless (Democrats') plan substantially changes this weekend, I will be unable to move forward on energy independence legislation at this time," Graham said in a statement. "I will not allow our hard work to be rolled out in a manner that has no chance of success." Kerry and Lieberman canceled their announcement tomorrow in response, but "only temporarily."
