No, LeBron James, no! Stay far, far away from the movie business, Chris Yuscavage begs. Most athletes who try to make the transition fall flat, and it would be a shame if James gave up a spot on the 2012 Summer Olympics basketball team just so he could film the horrible-sounding Fantasy Basketball Camp. As evidence, 11 athletes whose star turns weren’t so starry, from StreetLevel:

  • Lawrence Taylor: The former NFL linebacker’s “role in Any Given Sunday didn't really require him to act—it was basically just him playing the role of himself. So what does it say about him as a person that we still hated it?"

  • Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson: "We'd rather rip out all of our own teeth than be subjected to watching” The Tooth Fairy “(or the trailer for this flick, for that matter) ever again."
  • Howie Long: The former NFL defensive end starred in Firestorm. "A movie about a former firefighter turned arsonist? How ironic. A movie featuring a former football player turned smokejumper? How awful."
  • Dennis Rodman: "Congratulations were in order after this as Rodman managed to take home not one, not two, but three Razzies for his role alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme" in Double Team.
  • Hulk Hogan: Mr. Nanny reminds us of “the old saying the Hulkster lived by: ‘Train, say your prayers, take vitamins, and make crappy PG movies for a paycheck so that one day you can watch your ex-wife blow all your cash!’”
