Looks like abstinence advocates have an unlikely bedfellow: Lady Gaga is urging her fans to use condoms or—"and I can’t believe I’m saying this—don’t have sex." The pop star, who the Daily Mail notes is working with Cyndi Lauper to raise money for HIV and AIDS projects, says "it's not really cool any more to have sex all the time. It’s cooler to be strong and independent." And it seems she practices what she preaches.

"I’m single right now and I’ve chosen to be single because I don’t have the time to get to know anybody," she said. "So it’s OK not to have sex, it’s OK to get to know people. I’m celibate, celibacy’s fine." (More Lady Gaga stories.)
