Sex Offender Busted in Teen's Disappearance
Chelsea King, 17, has been missing since last week.   (King family)

A registered sex offender has been arrested after evidence was found linking him to the disappearance of a suburban San Diego teenager, according to investigators. John Gardner was busted yesterday after some 1,400 volunteers and 127 officers searched Rancho Bernardo Park for any sign of Chelsea King, 17. Investigators believe Gardner may also be linked to an attack on the jogger in the park late last year.

King's parents said the arrest brings them no relief. "Nothing will change for us until our beautiful daughter comes home," said a family statement last night. "We will continue searching for her, and we ask that all of you do the same until she's back with us." Police, who haven't released any details about uncovered evidence, are still holding out hope that the missing teen might be found alive, reports ABC News.
