The CPAC crowd greeted surprise visitor Dick Cheney with chants of "run, Cheney, run" today, though the former VP demurred. The raucous welcome at the conservative convention is "almost enough to make me want to run for office again," said Cheney, who showed up on stage to support daughter Liz. "But I'm not a-gonna do it."

Even if he won't be center stage, Cheney has high hopes for this year's elections, USA Today reports. "The sky's the limit here," he said. "I think 2010 is gong to be a phenomenal year for the conservative cause. And I think Barack Obama is a one-term president."
