Dad Charged With Tot's Murder After River Plunge

A British dad who plunged his car into icy waters has been charged with murder now that his 5-year-old daughter has died. Police believe Christopher Grady intentionally drove his SUV into the Avon river with his daughter, Gabby, and 6-year-old son, Ryan, as passengers. Father and son escaped and made it to shore, but Gabby was trapped inside the car for 2 hours until rescuers could reach her. She was revived at the scene but died at a local hospital yesterday, 3 days after the accident.

She passed away "peacefully, surrounded by family," officials told the Independent. The tragedy was devastating for rescuers, said a spokesman. "We are very sad to hear this terrible news and our thoughts are with Gabby's family at this difficult time," he added. Grady also faces attempted murder charges in connection with Ryan.
