North Carolina is one of 7 states that allow a member of a divorcing couple to sue a third party for busting up the marriage, and Elizabeth Edwards has threatened to do just that—to Andrew Young. Usually, a lover—Rielle Hunter, anyone?—would be the defendant in the suit, but John Edwards’ wife has set her sights on the former aide who initially attempted to cover up the affair.

Sources tell ABC News Edwards wants Young to stop speaking out about the couple and to donate $250,000 to the foundation they founded in the name of their dead son in exchange for not bringing suit. She would also like him to return some personal voicemails she left him during the 2008 presidential campaign.
