All Over New Orleans, Saints Fans Go Marching Out

Best of luck to the candidates in tomorrow's New Orleans mayoral primary—they have the attention of just about no one. "The race isn't at the top of anyone's mind," says one candidate, understating the Super Bowl fever sweeping the Big Easy. In ordering the postponement of a trial, one local judge wrote that he "takes judicial notice that Saintsmania permeates the City of New Orleans."

"It would be impossible to get a jury during Super Bowl week to weigh evidence," he reasoned. Restaurants, schools, and courts are adjusting their schedules or bracing for rampant absenteeism Sunday and Monday, reports the Wall Street Journal. And one high school principal is in hot water for his reaction to a student who arrived at school wearing a Colts jersey. "When he refused to change his shirt, the principal sent him home," the ACLU tells WWL-TV.
