Facebook may be a great way to reconnect with old friends, but it's not always easy on relationships. The main issue: "Some people live their lives online, while their partners don’t," one therapist tells the Boston Globe. For example: “I don’t think it should be public knowledge about when we’re out of town," said the husband of a Facebook fanatic who posts about upcoming vacations, among other things.

For others, it's less about safety and more about privacy. One 22-year-old shares details of fights with her boyfriend. "He thinks the whole world knows it’s about him," she said. "But whatever. It’s my Facebook. I can do whatever I want." To some extent, the divide is generational, experts say. People under 30 tend to feel more comfortable letting it all hang out online, while those in the 40s often don't. "In their 30s, it can go either way," the therapist said.
